SUBWATER SAND DUNES, THYBORØN, DENMARK

40DKK195DKK

DECRIPTION:

The “Subwater Sand Dunes“ is a landscape of the fishing village of Thyborøn in the North-Western part of Denmark and the subwater sand dunes underneath the shallow waters of the bay. The coast is pure white and protected by breakwaters that protect the coast from erosion. The entire Westcoast of Denmark is protected from the vigorous Vesterhav (the North Sea) that takes its turn on Denmark, constantly eroding the coastline. The sanddunes are home to rare bird species and has a mystical presence as not being visible from land view but so dominant from space.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

“Geosperical Landscapes” is a landscape project by Wild Things where planet Earth is viewed through the eyes of a satellite. The images show the impact human kind has on the landscapes surrounding us as well as the impact landscapes have on us. The landscapes also serve as a time capsule of how the ever-changing landscape and human structures looked at this time in history.
