SPOTTED DRIFT ICE, GREENLAND

40DKK195DKK

DESCRIPTION:

The “Spotted Drift Ice“ landscape is found in the Eastern part of Greenland, at a glacier melting point where the drifting ice has reached open sea. As the glacial cape meets the ocean, the cape persists as long as it is still supported fom underneath. As the glacial ice pushs out at open sea, it reaches a point where it can not carry its own weight. The drift ice at this landscape is taken where the ice has just started cracking and parting above the dark oceanic depths of the Atlantic.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

“Geosperical Landscapes” is a landscape project by Wild Things where planet Earth is viewed through the eyes of a satellite. The images show the impact human kind has on the landscapes surrounding us as well as the impact landscapes have on us. The landscapes also serve as a time capsule of how the ever-changing landscape and human structures looked at this time in history.
