MOUNTAIN RANGE, ICELAND
The “Mountain Range“ is a landscape from the northern part of Iceland. The Icelandic mountains are created by volcanic activity and tectonic movements, since Iceland rests on two tectonic plates that drift slowly apart, the North American Plate and the Eurasian.
The landscape is one among a handful that could remind of something in an entirely different scale. It gives associations of tree roots, blood veins or even dinosaur feet. It gives associations to the elements in nature that repeats itself in unknown numbers of which we human species can relate to the ones closest to us in scale.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
“Geosperical Landscapes” is a landscape project by Wild Things where planet Earth is viewed through the eyes of a satellite. The images show the impact human kind has on the landscapes surrounding us as well as the impact landscapes have on us. The landscapes also serve as a time capsule of how the ever-changing landscape and human structures looked at this time in history.
