CHALK MOUNTAINS, SYRIA
The “Chalk Mountains“ landscape is found in the Western part of Syria. Five tectonic plates meet North of Syria thus creating a lot of volcanic activity in the underground. The mountains are created by these diverging forces.
The landscape is also an attempt to show the beauty of a country related to so much violence, war, refugee immigration and political instability. The landscapes are there no matter what political riots rage the inhabitants and somehow remind us that everywhere in the world there are people who just want to live a good peaceful life.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
“Geosperical Landscapes” is a landscape project by Wild Things where planet Earth is viewed through the eyes of a satellite. The images show the impact human kind has on the landscapes surrounding us as well as the impact landscapes have on us. The landscapes also serve as a time capsule of how the ever-changing landscape and human structures looked at this time in history.
